Adoption Awareness Month11/01/12
During the month of November, the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa will be promoting adoption month in an effort to increase awareness.
Our goal is to provide the child with permanency and security. Adoption is the legal recognition that the child and parent(s) are afforded the same rights and privileges as any other family. When children or youth are in the care of the CAS, the goal is to place them with immediate or extended family members with the ideal to reunite the child with their family. Where this is not possible, the plan may include finding the child a stable, loving and permanent home through Adoption.
The children in our care come from a variety of ethnic and racial backgrounds and range in age from infancy to 18 years. Some are siblings waiting for a family who can adopt them together.
