Dress Purple Day

October 17, it's Dress Purple Day across Eastern Ontario to raise awareness for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention month.

This year, four French public elementary schools: Francojeunesse, Maurice-Lapointe, Gabrielle-Roy, Seraphin-Marion and four French Catholic elementary schools: Montfort, Arc-en-ciel, Alain-Fortin and Roger St-Denis will be participating in Dress Purple Day as a sign of solidarity for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

All children have been outfitted with purple "Brisez le silence - Parlez pour eux" t-shirts that they will wear on October 17. They have also been given information and activities to make this a fun and interactive learning opportunity as well as an awareness campaign.
