National Child Day

November 20th is National Child Day. This day marks the time when Canada implemented the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) which recognizes childrens' right to use their voice without discrimination.

Parents and caregivers play a critical role in their child’s development. As a result, it’s important for these individuals to fully understand children’s rights in order to properly educate their child.

The Public Health Agency of Canada’s website offers a lot of information about National Child Day and provides information kits as well as educational resources for parents, educators and children.

Take a moment today and plan something special with your child. Colour a picture, play a board game, eat a special meal - most importantly, celebrate your child!
