Beat the Heat Indoors

popsicleCapture (2)

Avoid the risk of overheating by seeking shelter indoors when temperatures get too high. If you are equipped with one, ensure your air conditioner is running or plugged directly into an outlet to avoid fire hazards. Avoid plugging a circuit of crowded outlets with clusters of wires and plugs.

Remember that hot weather in the summer can cause power outages. When the electricity is off, ensure extra care when using alternative lighting such as candles, and cooking. Reduce the risk of fire and use flashlights or battery-operated lanterns instead of unattended candles at night.
